Do you have that one special horse who has earned a "forever" home with you? I do! Brandy and I racked up thousands of miles on hooves and tires, barrel racing, team penning, gathering cattle, parades, rodeos, you name it, we did it! If I ever fell off him and got a foot hung up, he's the type who would freeze until you were safe; he's the BEST horse in the world! He will be with me until the end.

We got another cabin in... Our cabin rentals are the hot topic lately and we went ahead and bought another cute log one bedroom cabin. Stephenville, Texas is the place to be if you want to go barrel racing. Take a vacation with your horse...horses and come stay at Hoof Prints Ranch. Our newest cabin is #9 so there are no bookings on it yet. Go to our website for more info and be the first to make a reservation on #9. www.hoofprintsranch.com email me and I will tell you what races are coming up in this area so you can plan a trip.

No More EVENT Submission Forms! It is all done online and you control the event information! The New PacWest and Hot Ponies websites are the most advanced association-based websites in the nation and there are more features being developed as we speak to enhance the state directors' and premier producers' ability to manage their races. To submit a race for sanctioning or co-sanctioning follow these steps: Go to Hot Ponies and create a personal or producer profile Then click on "EVENTS" Next click on "post your own" Complete all the event information requested Successful event postings have flyers, entry forms, logo or picture, and a link to your website Choose whether you want the event sanctioned or co-sanctioned and then "submit" Your event is then automatically loaded on the Hot Ponies Calendar and submitted to PacWest for approval to feature on the PacWest Calendar. Following your submission you will receive an e-mail that the event is approved or disapproved along with the forms needed to report results after your event. If there are changes to your event, like more added money, weather cancellations, you simply: Log on to your Hot Ponies Profile Click on "edit my profile" Click on the "events" within your profile It will bring you to all your events and you can edit each individual event Make sure youtake advantage of the social networking share box on the bottom of the HotPonies event page. Simply click on that box and it opens Face Book or your social networking site of choice and allows you to share that page with your friends and fans.

The Aloha BBQ Throw Down is a cooking competition which tests contestents' grilling skills using charcoal, gas, or wood as a fuel. Although we suggest that proteins be grilled, anything that can be cooked over an open flame is fair game. The winner will be awarded with over $400 in Professional's Choice products! How it Works: First off, let us know that you (or a guest) will be competing in the throw down. Just send us an e-mail and you're in! We're hoping for 10 competitors and are guesstimating that 200 will attend so, as a general guideline, competitors should shoot to feed 20. As an approximation, that would be 5 pounds of hamburger, 20 sausages, 5 chickens, 5 pounds of steak, or 7 pounds of tri-tip. You bring the grill and the food you're making and we'll reimburse you for your costs up to $50. PacWest will provide everything else: utensils, beverages, side dishes, and dessert. Judges for the Throw Down will be the 4D winners of each Saturday race class (Open, Amateur, Youth, Adult, and Masters). The judges will be asked to score each competitor on taste and presentation. In addition to the Professional's Choice products, the winner will hold the coveted title of "Big Kahuna" and all of the respect and reconition which comes with it!

Which group of barrel horses and their riders is the toughest? Often you see that the girls on rodeo horses don't fair as well at divisional races and the same goes for divisional horses at rodeos. So what is your opinion on this debate? I actually think divisional horses maybe be tougher than rodeo horses in divisional races. Let the debate begin!

What drugs should or should not be used in the horse industry? From lasix to steroids to pain relivers, all of these things can enhance a horses performance by eliminating pain and building strength in the horse. What are your opinions on this debate topic? If you are a vet, let us know hoe prevalent this is in the horse industry. If you are a competitor give us your thoughts. I know that there are competitors who place all horses on twice annual injections and run every horse on lasix. I know there are some who do nothing. What are your oppinions? No hold barred debate: Just be kind and state your opinion.

We have ordered the Professional Choice Boots and are part of our order for the Glen Rose Race and are being shipped to Glen Rose for the May 14-16th race. It did not make since to pay for shipping separately. When we return from Glen Rose we will mail them out if the riders are not at that race. I think Jandee Scott's BF is announcing so he can take them home to her. Great work she did with that blog. The other two will be mail out on the 17th of May. The bling bridle is going out tomorrow.

WOOHOOO! IS MY WAR CRY!! Ha Ha! Anyone who knows me or has seen me ride at a barrel race know that I am not a quiet rider when I enter the arena as a passenger on top of one of the two horses that I am lucky enough to be a part of their lives! It is an exciting and numb moment to be able to wake up every day and move out from under the sheets of my bed and plant my two feet on the ground and move every muscle it takes to get rolling into the new day. I will not go into details of why it is a struggle to get out of bed or to past the moment of when the threshold of pain is overridden by "yay, I can do this". I yell my War Cry from the moment I enter the arena rounding the first turn still attached to rocket of muscles that I am on board to pushing past that third barrel just one more step to look up and see the finish line of faces at the far end wondering "is she going to hit the fence, dodge off to the left, or omg why is she screaming and waving her hands in the air like a half crazed rodeo queen doing her final wave in the arena?" Little do they know that I am just thanking God and my beautiful family for giving me another Chance to feel this exhiliartion of being alive and doing the best that we can do, together, as a team loving the life of being a barrel racer!

I think the pedirgrees need to go back a couple generations to show how a horse is bred. Unless they are a direct son/daughter of someone famous you cannot tell how they are bred.
