The Rewards of Running with the Pac!!!

Pac West Barrel Racing Association is one of the fastest growing barrel racing organizations in California. Many of our races will be co-sanctioned with BRN4D, BTM South, NSBRA, Gold Cost Barrel Racing and ACBRA.

Being a member of Pac West has it rewards:

  • All member runs at Pac West-produced races videoed and posted online
  • End of year DVD sent out to each member
  • Year-end awards and/or saddles to all divisions
  • Priority notification of all races
  • 50% off all late enter fees for Pac West members at Pac West-produced races
  • 50% off arena/office fees for Pac West members at Pac West-produced races
  • Pac West member jackets awarded to all qualifying members who ride in 5 of 7 large three-day races. Must ride in 3 of 3 open races at each big race. Only one jacket awarded per person.

Grass Valley is extending their Wednesday weeknight races through September!  If you want a nice relaxed place to run, that's the place to go. 

Penn Valley has added monthly races through October, so check the events calendar for updates daily.

Looking for a race over the Labor Day weekend?   Consider ACBRA's Labor Day Kick-off Race at Diamon Bar Arena in Ceres, CA.  More information in our Events calendar.

Upcoming NBHA District 8 co-sanctioned races in Brentwood with PacWest.  Races are scheduled through October.  Click Here for flyer.

BRN4D is racing in Ukiah Thursday nights through October.  PacWest is a co-sanctioning for Open, Youth, Novice, and Open/Am classes.

Rules and Regulations for the 2008-2009 season have been finalized and can be viewed here.  The most significant changes are in the area of how points are accumulated.  Please let us know your thoughts after reviewing them.

Reminder:  The PacWest race season restarts after finals in June.  In order to receive member benefits for the 2009/2009 race season, you must re-join.

Open

4D Format-The payoff is based on a four dimensional format. The 4D payoff format is divided into the following divisions: 1st Division/Fastest time (FT); 2nd Division/Fastest time+.5 seconds; 3rd Division/FT+ 1 second; 4th Division/FT + 2 seconds.  Open to all riders.

2008-09. Points are awarded to money winners in each division.  All members receive 50 points for entering a weekend (Friday - Sunday) race; 25 points are awarded for entering a midweek race.  Awards are given to the top 3 in each division.  In the event of a tie, the member who attended the most races will receive the award, with the second member who tied receiving the next award down.  You must attend a minimum of 6 races to be eligible for year end awards.

Open/AM

Open to horses with a winnings cap of $4000 or less. Any rider may enter, the restriction is on the horse only.

Novice

Youth
